Birthday Wishes

4

My birthday is on Friday & Mr S keeps pestering me about what I want. When I disclosed that there were only four items on my list he still insisted I write them down or he might forget. I teasingly told him that I was going to blog about it, only this morning he lamented that my birthday wish list was not upon the blog. Who am I to argue this?

1. ipod Sensor -- Can you believe that with the cheaper {at least older} Nano ipod they came with built in pedometers, but when Mr S bought me an iphone we realised you had to get the fancy pants ipod sensor! I was suppose to pick one up while I was in the US, but life got in the way & I totally forgot. You dont' actually need the fancy pants shoes to make these work, just incase you're wondering, there are nifty little pouches you can attach to your shoes to use instead.

2. Project Life -- I can't buy this in Australia, but I can have it imported from an authorized dealer in New Zealand... at a huge price. I was going to pick up an off brand while I was in the US, if Hobby Lobby had some, they did not. By that time I was a little late on the ball to pick up a set from Amazon.

3. Magic Chopper -- Last time I was in the US my parents bought me one of these as my birthday present. It was one of those crazy weird things, but I really really wanted one. So they found one at their local Walgreens & I was able to bring it back home with me. That was 5+ years ago & after daily use the hinges on the lid finally broke. I've still used it, lining it up to the best of my ability, but the day Mr S saw me jumping on it {seriously} to try & chop an onion he suggested we retire it. I was not as willing to relinquish my beloved Vidalia Chopper {I believe that's their US name}. Every year he's tried to hunt one down for me with no luck, we even looked in various shops in the US while we were there with no luck. However, we finally spotted one!

4. Well Fed -- Our little family has been eating via the paleo diet of late. It's one set of recipes that work for our family as they have no sugar, no dairy, & no grain. Unfortunately they do have eggs in some, so I just avoid those recipes or substitute if I can. {I'm allergic to eggs & dairy, & grains seem to encourage my migraines.} Anyway, I really love this cookbook & own a Kindle version of it, but Kindle & Cookbooks don't do well together, at least not in my kitchen. I had really hoped to pick up a proper copy while in the US. In fact, I went to a bookshop for it because their website said they had a copy, but upon arrival they said their website was wrong. I was sorely tempted to introduce them to a web designed who could make them a better, smarter, website, but I resisted the urge.

Happy Birthday!! (on Friday!)

I know you have mentioned a Cricut from time to time and I just want to mention that the Cricut Mini may be an option because it's cheaper and they are going digital now and releasing a lot of cartridges digitally and they have the Cricut Craft Room that is free of charge that you can use. I don't like digital products but I know with shipping in Australia, digital is a real blessing for you. Just a thought.

Aww, Thanks Nancy, my dh looks at that device every year. I might have to look into it a bit more. I'm telling you, when we lapbooked it would have been a MAJORLY used device even by my children. :D
