I Meant To Do My Work Today

I meant to do my work today,
But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,
And a butterfly flitted across the field,
And all the leaves were calling me.
And the wind went sighing over the land,
Tossing the grasses to and fro,
And a rainbow held out its shining hand,
So what could I do but laugh and go?

Spring arrived in the wee hours of the morning with a roar and a pound upon our door. In like a lion out like a lamb? The boys are eager to see if that holds true this year! We're hoping to invite spring in with a few activities over the rest of this week:
  • Make a Lion & Lamb chart to keep track of the weather
  • make flower cookies
  • go on a Spring nature walk
  • photograph some signs of spring
  • a picnic lunch (or tea)
  • a great round of The Nature Game
  • starting a few seeds (indoors) for our upcoming veggie garden(s)
  • flying our kites
  • refilling bird feeders
How are you going to welcome in spring?
