These aren't the best photos, but they'll have to do until summers light once again invades our home. The big one is the Sun which the boys frequently "burn" themselves on. I was out of more invisible thread so we were stuck with gray yarn. To attach the yarn to each planet I used a small eye which we had on hand.

This was a really fun project to work on, and we've really enjoyed seeing them hanging up. It keeps the whole lesson going for the kids and they talk about the planets all the time. All though they do feel to be more accurate we should have posted a few black holes and perhaps a spaceship or two..

Love your planets! We are focusing on space this year. Did you follow a pattern when making your systeM?

Edwena,

We did a space online course over at CurrClick, but the planets are different! Here's a link to our's in the paint process, and the link for it should be over there! Basically we just covered our balls in foil before painting.. You might have fun with Moon Sand too, we never got around to making it, but I suspect we will tomorrow.. Here's another fun Space thing we did too! :)

That looks so cool! I love it! Maybe I'll be able to be that creative some day. ;)
