I happen to have a small addiction to planners. It's true, I own far too many! Weirdest thing is, I use them all too. Every planner I've ever encountered has had some beneficial piece in it that I've used. So for the past few years I've been printing out the pieces I needed from each one and using them to suit my needs. The beauty of using a 3-ring binder, or having your planner bound, is that you can put what you want in it and avoid all the rest that just takes up space. I've been saying for a while now that I was going to build my own and put in all the essential planning pages I enjoy using.

A few weekends ago I stumbled upon some really cute silhouettes and decided that they'd be a lot of fun to use in the planner I wanted to make. One thing led to another and before I knew it I became quite carried away with what I was doing. I really like what I came up with though, and thought I'd share it here.

I've broken it all down into smaller pdfs:

Unit Study Planning Pages -- I got tired of locating all my scribbled notes for the various unit studies I put together, and decided that as long as I was making pages I might as well create something that would help me keep my notes and ideas in one central place.

Artist, Nature, & Composer Pages -- I've moved all three of these pages into their own downloadable pdf file.

Weekly Planning Pages -- depending on what we're studying depends on how in depth my notes tend to be. So I ended up making myself three different types of planning pages. I also made a page for taking notes on our favorite parts of the week, I'm thinking it will make a nice journal of our schooling journey at the end of the year.

Book Pages -- I've dubbed them this because I made up pages for my library lists, read-aloud logs, and a book wish list. I told you I was a tad addicted to planners, or maybe it's lists..

Holiday Pages -- I really love having all the holidays, crafts, birthday, etc in one place. We try to keep up with American & Australian holidays and these pages really help me with that. I also like to jot down pre-planned craft projects that match the holidays.

Extras -- address book, recipes (I'm always collecting these), Bible verse pages, & a place to keep track of favorite websites. Cause even though you can bookmark them when you have one of those inevitable crashes....

Index Cards -- they aren't real index cards, but the idea was to make them about that size for a variety of things. Like printing our weekly Bible verses on and placing them strategically around the house so I can remind myself and others to keep on practicing them...

There's no menu planning pages because I all ready have one of those I keep on my fridge, I also didn't bother with "record keeping" style pages because I don't tend to use them based on what my state/country laws are.

Kenra, these look great! Thanks so much for sharing them! I am beginning to make my planner. I have been going to make my own for sometime now and have been collecting pages.

Oh just wanted to mention that on your page with "read alouds" you have some of your schedule actually printed there. :)

Can you share where you found the silhouettes?

I did a few searches via google, my scrapbooking program and a few craft sites with tutorials for various silhouette image projects. :D You'll have to be careful though because there's a few "choice" images that tend to pop up when you do a google search.

Kendra,
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing your planner. I'd love a copy of your calendar pages you also have in your planner. Is that possible?
