This means I was only left with how to present them to the kids. Then I stumbled across a nifty craft tutorial for making a gift card pouch. I decided that it would be awesome to slip a piece of paper into for the kids to know what "special" thing we'd be doing that day. So now I'm busy sewing reindeer like crazy. I've finished up 8 of them, which means I only have about 17 more to go. I had a minor set back because I ran out of buttons. Check out what the finished project looks like, it's causing a lot of excitement around here.

Those little antlers are something to make! With that thought I decided to take a break from sewing them and start writing down the "fun stuff" to put in them. Only, I didn't want to just jot it down on paper and stuff it in, so here's what I came up with.

I have a whole boxful of them, but I still have more to go. I want to make two for each day of December (or at least the first 24). That way the kids won't fight over who pulls it out. The things I've come up with are really simple. Go to the parade, make the annual Christmas cookies, post the Christmas cards, decorate the Christmas tree, set up the nativities, go check out the lights after dinner, etc. I'm thinking the second card I stick in may say what movie or book we'll watch/read. I'm not sure on that though because many of those will depend on what I can get from the library. Lots of time left to figure it all out. If you want to make your own, here's where I got the tutorial from. Enjoy!
